Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha is an evergreen shrub that grows in Africa and Asia. It is commonly used for stress, or perceived stress. It contains chemicals that may help calm the brain, reduce swelling, lower blood pressure and possibly improve immune system function. It may also help improve sleep due to its stress reducing properties. Better sleep may improve recovery and possibly improve muscle gains.

Ashwagandha may not be recommended in individuals with impaired kidney function and or on dialysis. Some research suggests it may have an affect on thyroid function.

Recommend daily dose for ashwagandha is 300-600mg daily for its anxiety relieving properties, and appears to be well tolerated for up to 3 months of use. Long term data is lacking.
